Fleur has always been one our most energetic and enthusiastic instructors. She loves the joy and freedom that she finds at Friskis and appreciates the like-minded people that she finds there. For that reason she told us that her favorite Friskis value was: PEOPLE CAN TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN HEALTH.
"I love sports and have been practicing lots of different types since I was a teenager. What is unique and what I really love about Friskis&Svettis is that we don’t feel judged, there is no good or best way to perform the moves, and most importantly we are not teachers…Leading is different. You show the way and it is up to people to decide what they want to do.
In my opinion, we offer a fun and easy way to exercise with the possibility of turning it into a good habit. We lead by example. We don’t tell people what to do, what not to do, and that is why we express no views about what is or isn’t a healthy lifestyle. People can choose to come every day at every session, just once a week, or once in a while…and that ‘s fine. Honestly, sometimes I believe that we are more about entertainment than health. I always have so much fun at Friskis whether I’m joining or leading a session.
I like this value that says that everyone is responsible, even more since I became a family circuit instructor, on top of being a medium jympa instructor, because I can assure you that the kids are just here for the fun factor. They don’t care about what latest exercises are trending or about being healthy. During the session, when I am standing in the middle trying to motivate them and get them to do the same exercises as everyone else, I know that if they don’t want to, they just don’t do it! And that is fine. It speaks to me also because I am practicing mindfulness every morning, and the idea of acceptance, is at the center of mindfulness.
It’s about acceptance and taking responsibility for yourself.
This is also what I try to share with my 2 kids.
In a nutshell, for me Friskis &Svettis is the best way to encourage people to do sports with a positive mindset and embracing all positive aspects of it."
Now that you’ve heard her thoughts, let’s take a moment to better know our beloved instructor. As a sportive person since a young kid in France, she has always wished for more people to practice sport, so when she recognised herself in the values of F&S she joined as an instructor some five years ago. The spirit of spreading good sport activity with fun and great people are what she enjoys the most and believes that Today is her favourite day – just like the much loved Winnie the Pooh!
