New Outdoor sessions in October

New Friskis Outdoor Sessions in October 2020 (Running Cross, Cross and Running Quality)

In addition to our evening running sessions in Park Woluwe, it is now time to introduce a new Running Quality slot in Parc Cinquantanaire on Mondays 19:30-20:30. This session will be given by our beloved instructor Anna, who is back on our running team. Running Quality sessions are an excellent way to improve your running technique, condition, speed and running strength – and to have fun with great instructors.

We are also proud to re-introduce the Running Cross / Cross sessions in Brussels. They are great sessions for runners but also for participants who simply like varied training and love training outdoors. So, you do not necessarily have to be a runner to do these sessions, and we offer alternatives for many exercises so you can do them on your own level.

Both the Running Cross and Cross session start with warm-up and flexibility. After you’ll have three stations, 5-7 minutes each, with different strength exercises like lunges, knee bends, push-ups, plank, sit-ups, back lifts and rowing. In one station we normally do three different exercises, two sets each. The fourth and last station is more running oriented with speed, pulse and tempo, e.g. intervals or running uphill. Between the stations you run 2-4 minutes with a calm tempo. The shorter Cross session will have the cool down and flexibility straight after the four stations.

In the Running Cross session you have another 15 minutes of running after the four stations, before the cool down and flexibility. That is why the session is longer than the Cross session. However, even in that running part – like in all Friskis running sessions – we can accommodate both faster and slower runners, by catching up and by giving extra challenges for those who want to push a bit harder on a given day.

George will give the Cross session (60 minutes) every second Thursday in Woluwe park, 19:30-20:30. Berit will give a Running Cross (75 minutes) session every Saturday, starting from place Luxembourg, 10:00-11:15. You will find more detailed information on meeting points on our website. Please remember to register as for all our other sessions too.
