Running Cross
Originally from Buckingham in the UK, Fiona arrived in Brussels 9 years ago and immediately joined Friskis cause she thought it was the perfect all- round fitness classes and cause if you're gonna develop your strength, mobility and coordination, it's best to do it in a group setting (much more fun).
She decided to become a Friskis volunteer for to share her passion for running. It's a challenge for her to learn more about running, and she thinks that the best way to do this than is by sharing her knowledge with the Friskis gang!
She also loves the relaxed atmosphere that she finds at Friskis and the philosophy of having fun while doing sport. We seem to think that once we're adults you need to grow up and we no longer need to play. However, at Friskis you are allowed to play as an adult. For example, doing silly exercise with your running friends in the park or jumping around in Friskis jympa is something you can enjoy even as an adult. And there is nothing wrong with simply having fun! If we enjoy the sports we do, we are far more likely to continue and be consistent (that's basically Friskis in a nutshell).
Her personal motto is that "Variety is the spice of life" and she thinks that it's best to mix things up a bit and to try new things.
When asked about what her favorite Friskis memory is she confessed that she had too many to choose from: the fun Friskis James Bond evening, the jympa session with Magda after the dinner and generally all those great memories from the various sessions like jumping up stairs, running slalom between the trees in Cinquantenaire park and lots of jympa sessions! Hopefully this is only the beginning and there are plenty more good memories to be made at Friskis!
