Introducing Friskis Website 2.0 and our new App

New Semester, New Website, Same Old Friskis!

01 October 2020

Good news everyone,

we have a big surprise for you all! Now, I know what you’re thinking... “2020 has given us enough big surprises… no more please!” but I swear that you are going to love this surprise. Starting as of today we have a brand new, state of the art website.

What does the new website offer?

  • exciting new look and design
  • new descriptions of all the sessions
  • more secure and stable website (no more crashes!)
  • the possibility to book and register for your sessions directly on the website or through the app (app? What app? Keep reading!)
  • brand new notification system. You will automatically be notified if there are any changes to the session you reserved
  • the membership will be fully digital (no more paper cards)
  • you can now register your membership and pay for it directly on the website immediately via a credit card or direct debit (instead of manual bank transfer)

But wait there’s more! Not only are we getting a new website we are also getting a new mobile app (for both Apple and Android devices). The app can be downloaded searching for “F&S Brussels” in your favorite app provider. The session booking and memberships will be accessible both via the website and the app so now you can reserve your session on the way there directly through the app (provided there is still room).

What does this mean for you?

All the data and membership information from the old website has been transferred to the new platform. Your current email address will still be valid to login to the new portal, so you don’t need to re-register. You'll just have to reset the password.

The previous booking portal still will be used until Saturday 3th of October. So you only need to register for your sessions on the new website or app for sessions after the 3rd of October. So there is no need to re-register again.

Please note that it will no longer be possible to book a session without either a valid membership, or as a guest. This means that if somebody wants to sign up for a session, he or she needs to have a valid membership or a guest pass. Moreover, when you sign up as a member (or renew your membership), you will have to pay the membership immediately via a credit card or direct debit.

Several memberships can be managed via one account, i.e. parents managing their children’s account.

When you go to your session, you no longer need to show your membership card. You simply show the host your phone with the app showing that you reserved that session, or by giving them your name and the hosts can then check the list of participants who signed up for the session on their own phone.

If you go to a session without having signed up, the hosts and instructors can still add you to the session provided there is still room, but we remind you that reservation is now obligatory for all indoor and outdoor sessions so please always reserve ahead of time!

Memberships and Packs

Persons signing up can choose between “Membership” or “Class Packs”. In “Class Packs” you can find the electronic 4-session cards, the free try-out session, and the purchase of separate sessions.

The paper try-out cards will thus be replaced by an electronic version. The electronic version will give you access to a maximum of two sessions for one day. It can be used once per user. The day starts counting from the start of the first session attended.

Accesses to the various sessions depend on the membership. For example, an outdoor member cannot sign up for an indoor session.
For sessions where we allow children aged 8-12 to train with their parents, there is a special free membership only available for children in this age group. This membership is managed by their parents.

As from 12 years, children should have a full membership (with a reduced rate for age).

A dedicated FAQ page, where you should be able to find answers to the most common questions, will be set up on our website.

We have been working behind the scenes on this new website for a very long time and we are glad that we finally get the chance to unveil it to you all! This is all part our efforts to better serve our beloved members of the Friskis community and make all your lives easier so that you can focus on the more important things in life... namely moving and sweating with Friskis!

Kind regards,
Friskis&Svettis Brussels team
