Walking Brussels - The Cinquantenaire and its surroundings

Enjoy a special walk around Park du Cinquantenaire on Sunday, 26th June

26 June 2:30 PM - 26 June 4:30 PM, 2022 Starts at: Rue du Clocher 22, 1040 Etterbeek (Sport Center de Maalbeek)

Leave the poles in the cloakroom and discover Brussels by foot. The Nordic Walking team is organizing another special event “Walking Brussels” on Sunday 26th June 2022, from 14.30 till +/- 16.30 as we explore the area around Parc du Cinquantenaire.

The event is free for all Friskis members and non-members. All participants have to register in our online portal. Nonmembers can see more details in "How to book a free session" 

It is a round-trip tour, starting point and ending point: In front of the Maalbeek sports centre entry in Etterbeek (Rue du Clocher 22).
 
During the tour we will provide explanations on Place Van Meyel (near rue du Clocher), La Montagne du Cinquantenaire (the staircases), la place Saint-Pierre, la rue des Francs with the Cauchie-house, the avenue des Gaulois, the Tervuren avenue, the Cinquantenaire Park, the history, the monuments, the buildings, the trees
, the arcade, and the Military school. We will walk through the Cinquantenaire park to Round-point Schuman (if time allows), and back via Rue Dekens and Cornet to Maalbeek-center.

Those who want to climb into the arcades of the Cinquantenaire and enjoy the panorama please please bring with you 5€/pp in cash. To avoid queuing we will buy the entrance tickets beforehand.
 
The tour may be split in 2 or more groups, so participants can follow in either English or French. The maximum number of participants all together is 70 and reservation is mandatory. Tour will be guided by Guy.

Public transport: Metro 1/5 ‘Schuman’ or Bus 36/80, bus-stop ‘Général Leman’
