Elke’s Special Discovery
1. How did you find out about Friskis & Svettis?
I came to Brussels in 1998. First I went to a fitness club close to my home but I wasn’t very happy with it because the premises were small and the sessions so overcrowded that it was impossible to move freely as you always had to make sure you didn’t bump into someone else.
A colleague of mine told me about Friskis and I accompanied him to a session. I got addicted at once and have been a member since. Unfortunately, I cannot remember whether it was still in 1998 or in 1999 that I became a member.
2. What do you like most about Friskis?
So many things!!! Here are just a few :
3. Do you have any sessions or instructors you particularly enjoy?
As to the sessions/instructors I enjoy, I have to say that never ever an instructor has disappointed me. At the moment, I only go to the Etterbeek venue lunchtime sessions once, twice or sometimes 3 times a week, so my choice of sessions and instructors is therefore limited.
I mostly go Mondays and Tuesdays (which is most convenient for my work) and during the autumn semester both Daniela and Magda offered great sessions and both are very enthusiastic and very nice persons and therefore have lots of followers (including myself). I also like Sophie’s session very much but currently it’s too much strain on my knees.
In former semesters at lunchtime I went regularly to Lene’s and Senta’s sessions. I also enjoy Birgitta’s sessions. I remember with fondness Anne and her stations sessions. I miss her very much.
